BioBedding Tropical is the perfect substrate for your tropical bioactive enclosure, and is great for crested geckos. This substrate is a unique blend of organic and inorganic ingredients, trace elements, and beneficial fungi that serves to jump start the bioactive environment. Biobedding Tropical helps maintain humidity while providing a substrate your pets can dig and lay eggs in, all while helping to maintain healthy populations of microfauna.
Crested Gecko Plant Kit (5 plants)
Planting your Crested Gecko enclosure with tropical plants is both visually appealing and a great way to simulate a natural environment for your pet. These animals love climbing and enjoy plants with wide leaves and sturdy stalks that can support their weight. We’ve selected a handful of plants for this kit that are considered basic, easy to care for plants that should thrive in your crested gecko vivarium.

Dried Sheet Moss (1 gallon)
Josh’s Frogs Dried Sheet Moss (1 Gallon Bag) is 100% real moss that has been preserved by using heat and colored using food safe dyes. Dried Sheet Moss can be maintained as it is by keeping it dry. This is, for the most part, a decorative moss and it will not grow. If there are spores still viable after the preservation process, they may sprout but you must water the moss regularly with distilled or reverse osmosis water and keep it under bright light. It will most likely turn yellow/brown and decompose, which is a natural process. This moss can be placed on top of a damp planting substrate such as sphagnum moss, ABG mix, or potting soil. You can also attach this moss to wood or rock.
Leaf Litter (2 gallons)
Leaf litter performs a very important role in a naturalistic vivarium. Leaf litter provides shelter, visual barriers, and hiding places for the vivarium inhabitants. Mimicking the role of dead plant matter in the rainforest, leaves also put nutrients back into the environment, providing the stuff plants and microfauna need to thrive! Josh's Frogs Leaf Litter is collected from a pesticide and herbicide free environment. One gallon of leaf litter will cover approximately 1.5 square feet to the desired depth of 1 inch.
Although our leaves are collected in a pesticide and herbicide free environment, many choose to further treat vivarium decor. Leaves can be baked to a temperature of 140°F, eliminating potential harmful organisms.
Cork Branch (Large)
This cork tree branch is cut from the first harvest of the cork tree, giving it its natural, textured appearance. Cork branches are great for vivarium use since it is anti-microbial and moisture resistant, allowing it to hold up well in humid environments. These branches will make amazing perches and basking spots for your arboreal pets. They are also great to keep your cleaning crew happy and healthy!
Large cork branches are approximately 18-24 inches in length.
These natural products have undergone a sterilization process so that they don't bring unwanted hitchhikers with them. No synthetic materials are used in this process and the treated products are 100% safe and clean for your pets. However, for peace of mind, you may bake damp pieces of cork at 150°F until it’s heated throughout or for larger pieces, pour boiling water over them.

You will receive an 8 oz container with 25+ Dwarf Tropical White Isopods and an 8 oz container containing temperate springtails. We've found that these two species are the best for most bioactive enclosures.
